Angel Luis Nieves

On Thursday, January 14, 2021, Angel Nieves, our beloved son, brother, friend and Cat Daddy passed away at the young age of 60.

Angel was born and raised in Chicago, Illinois. He attended St. Teresa  of Avila school in Lincoln Park and received his high school degree from Holy Trinity High School. Before passing, he was a Billing Accountant at Kluver Law Group formerly known as Kluever and Platt for the past 15 years. 

He was a cat daddy to the late Serena, Natasha, Boris, Lucy, and currently to Taz, Bella and his baby Maxwell. Angelo, as he was called by his family, was the loving son of the late Francisco Nieves and he is survived by his loving mother Isabel Nieves-Maldonado, sister  Marisa Simon, brother Edwin, doting uncle to nieces, Sydnie, Melina, Zophia, nephew, Michael, Goddaughter Katia and a life long best friend and chosen family member to Marivel (Maybelle) and Jesus Rodriguez.

Angel had a great passion as a DJ for many 80’s house parties mostly located in Lakeview, Lincoln Park areas on Chicago’s northside. He was an active member of the Urban Vineyard Church, contributing as the leader and caretaker of the Urban Cafe as well as a Sound Crew Member.

He was known for bringing laughter and joy to so many as well as being an avid movie fan, a lover of Marvel, Star Wars  and a Trekkie at heart. He was also an amazing shopping partner and a professional bargain hunter. An Angel (Jack) of all trades.

As a man of Christ, he gave so much to others especially to friends and family. His love and humor is what will keep him in our memories forever. Angel will be deeply missed by all family and friends.

The funeral service will be held Sunday, January 17, 2021 at Benson Funeral Home: 3224 W. Montrose, Chicago, Illinois 60618.
