Hector Rivera

Hector Rivera was born in Puerto Rico of Parents Valentin Rivera and Lydia Feliciano. Widower of Evelyn Rivera. Hector resided in Puerto Rico for many of his early years of life before residing in Chicago Illinois after his first born daughter was born in Puerto Rico.

Before moving to Chicago he lived for one year in Trenton New Jersey together with his wife and daughter. He married Evelyn Carrero in Puerto Rico the year 1971 and they had two daughters Ermis born in Puerto Rico and Lydia born in Chicago Illinois.

Hector loved music and dancing. He loved baseball ,playing dominoes and always helped everyone that needed his help. He worked for many years as a Custodial Worker at Steinments High School here in Chicago and was loved by all of his co-workers. In his last years living with Dementia he lived at Bethany Retirement home where he was cared for and loved by many and in his last moments where he was cared for by many at Ambassador Nursing and Rehabilitation.

In his last years he was a member of Iglesia Bautista Hispana Ravenswood Church after accepting Christ as his personal savior before his dementia had advanced. While he attended Church he enjoyed singing very much and spending time with his brothers and sisters in Christ every Sunday together with his daughter Lilly and grandson Mario Angel Morales.

Hector loved eating his favorite Puerto Rican cuisines that his daughter Mita would especially cook for him. He always wanted to repeat all the time. Hector loved animals especially birds and dogs and even liked to adopt the squirrels outside on the trees and call them poochy for some reason. He loved and enjoyed being with his family especially with his grandchildren.

Hector is survived by his brothers and sisters that mostly live in Puerto Rico and a sister who lives in Florida. Brothers Ariel Rivera ( Married to Maria Colon aka Tonita) and Wilfredo Rivera aka Freddy ( Married to Mildred Juarbe). Sisters Miriam Padilla  ( Married to Francisco Perez), Neida Rivera, Olga Rivera and Nelly Rivera ( Married to Angel Morales) Two daughters Ermis Lydia Morales ( Married to Mario Anibal Morales Jr.) and Lydia Maria Rodriguez. Grandson Mario Angel Morales and Granddaughters Josely Marie Sanz and Isabella Maria Rodriguez.

Hector Rivera nacido en Puerto Rico de padres Valentin Rivera y Lydia Feliciano. Viudo de Evelyn Rivera. Hector residio en Puerto Rico por muchos anos y despues fue a residir en Chicago Ilinois despues de nacer su primera hija en Puerto Rico. Antes de mudarse para Chicago vivio un ano con su esposa y hija en Trenton New Jersey. Se caso con Evelyn Carrero en Puerto Rico en el ano 1971 y tuvieron juntos dos hijas Ermis nacida en Puerto Rico y Lydia nacida en Chicago.

Hector le encantaba la musica y bailar le gustaba el juego de pelota, jugar dominos y ayudar a todos los que necesitaban ayuda. Trabajo por muchos anos en la escuela Steinments por mas de 20 anos como Custodial Worker y fue querido mucho por todos sus companeros de trabajo. En sus ultimos anos viviendo con Demensia vivio en Bethany Retirement adonde lo querian muchisimo y sus ultimos dias en Ambassador Nursing home adonde lo cuidaron en sus ultimos momentos.  Hector Recibio a Cristo antes de que se le avansara la Demensia y comenzo a ser un miembro en la Iglesia Bautista Hispana Ravenswood. En sus ultimos tiempos pudo asistir en la Iglesia Bautista Hispana Ravenswood a donde le encantaba cantar y convivir con sus hermanos en Cristo cada Domingo acompanado de su hija Ermis ( Lilly)y nieto Mario Angel Morales ( Papa).  A Hector le encantaba comer sus comidas favoritas puertoriquenas especialmente comer en la casa de Lydia Maria ( Mita) su hija menor. A Hector le encantaba los animales los pajaros, perritos y llamaba a todas las ardillitas Poochi. A Hector le encantaba estar juntos con su familia y pasar tiempo con su nieto y nietas.

Hector es sobrevivido por sus hermanos y hermanas viviendo en Puerto Rico y Florida. Hermanos Ariel Rivera ( Casado con Maria Colon Tonita) y Wilfredo Rivera Freddy (Casado con Mildred Juarbe. Hermanas Miriam Padilla ( Casada Con Francisco Perez), Neida Rivera, Olga Rivera y Nelly Rivera (Casada con Angel Morales)Dos Hijas Ermis Lydia Morales ( Casada con Mario Anibal Morales Jr.) Y Lydia Maria Rodriguez. Nieto Mario Angel Morales Y Nietas Josely Marie Sanz y Isabella Maria Rodriguez.
