Matthew McGuiggan Obituary

Matthew Glenn McGuiggan, age 55, passed in his sleep on December 2nd, 2021, in his home in Glendora, CA. He was born January 29th, 1966 and grew up in Albany Park, Chicago IL. He attended Theodore Roosevelt High School and graduated in 1984.  He lived in and around Chicago for most of his life.

For a decade, he worked for United Airlines before moving on to something he enjoyed more. For most of Matthews life he was a self-employed home remodeler. His knowledge, attention to detail, and passion for his work turned his remodels into beautiful transformations. After his mother grew ill, he took on becoming a live-in home health aide for a few years, aside from his remodel work.

Matthew was a die-hard Chicago Bears fan and loved most to watch the games with his daughter, Kelly. He had the kindest heart and a brilliant smile to match. To know Matthew was to know acceptance and love. He was the most welcoming friend. He was an entertainer and would always be the one making people smile. He had a gentle soul and was a big softy. He had a love for making people feel loved.

He is survived by his daughter, Kelly; Sisters, Sharon Heath and Karen Hricik; Brothers, Gregory McGuiggan, Christopher McGuiggan, and Glenn McGuiggan, and many nieces and nephews. Preceding him in death was his father, Glenn Albert McGuiggan; his mother Anna McGuiggan; and his brother Patrick McGuiggan.
