Afimia Marinca

February 17, 1947 - December 29, 2025

Afimia Marinca of Morton Grove, Illinois passed away on Monday December 29th, 2025 after a brief illness.  Born in Romania to parents Iacob and Anisia Pop she was a Nurse/CNA who devoted her life to family and providing for those she cared for.  She was a doting wife, mother, and grandmother, beloved sister and aunt.  In her youth she enjoyed volleyball and playing the drums with her musical family.

In 1991 she emigrated to America and laid the foundation for her family to start anew, determined to and achieving the great life they all enjoyed.

She is survived by her husband of 44 years Vasile of Morton Grove, her son Andy (Alina) Marinca of Farmer City Illinois, her daughter Bianca (David) Bade of Riverwoods Illinois and granddaughters Bridget, Vivian and Erica Bade.  Her brother Marin (Florica) Pop of Tamasda, Romania. Her nephews Marin (Anna) Pop of North Judson, Indiana and Florin (Estera) Pop of Barrington, Illinois plus numerous other Nieces and Nephews across the globe.

She was preceded in death by her parents and brothers Nicolae and George Pop.
