Aylmer " Mead" Gifford passed away suddenly at his home on August 4, 2025 at the age of 90. The family is deeply saddened and shocked by his sudden death. Mead was born September 18, 1934 to his parents John and Catherine (DiGiovanni) Gifford. He is survived by his loving sister Alyce (Stephen) Taxe. His memory lives on with his nieces and nephews; Daniel Troesken and Theresa Croeger, Valerie Troesken and Christopher Knaf, Cynthis (Lang) de Francisco and Steve Lang. Mead was preceded in death by his parents and his sisters Judith and Jeanette. Mead was a lifelong resident of Chicago. He worked for the Union Pacific Railroad for many years and was also employed by the Federal Bankruptcy Court. Mead served in the US Army and was a logtime member of St. Paul's United Church of Christ.
Interment will be held at a later date at Linville Cemetery in Edina Missouri
