Carlos Rosado, Jr Obituary

Carlos M. Rosado ("Junior"), born March 5, 1962, in Chicago, Illinois, passed away on February 15, 2026. He was a loving and devoted father, cherished son, brother, grandfather, and loyal friend whose kindness and generosity touched countless lives.

Born to Luz Velez and Carlos Manuel Rosado Morales, Carlos carried his Chicago roots proudly throughout his life. A lifelong fan of the Chicago Cubs, he stood by his team with unwavering loyalty through every win and every loss reflecting the same steadfast spirit he showed in his own life.

Carlos is survived by his five children: Laura Rosado, Jacqueline Rosado Gadson, Anthony Rosado, Ivan Rosado, and Isabella Rosado, as well as his eight beloved grandchildren. Being a father and grandfather was the greatest joy of his life. He made it a priority to always be present at games, milestones, and everyday moments. His love was constant, protective, and unconditional.

He was known for guiding his children with wisdom, honesty, and sometimes long talks and as his family will lovingly remember, lecturing Jacqueline was one of his favorite things to do. Those conversations, filled with advice and fatherly concern, were always rooted in deep love and his desire to see his children succeed.

His passion for baseball extended beyond being a fan. Carlos proudly coached Ivan and Isabella’s little league teams, dedicating his time and heart to every practice and every game. Through baseball, he taught not only the fundamentals of the sport but also life lessons about teamwork, perseverance, and confidence. More than anything, he made sure his children knew he was always there for them.

Carlos also loved bowling and playing dominoes. He was competitive in everything he did and he played to win. One of his proudest moments was bowling a perfect 300 game on his daughter Laura’s birthday. He proudly shared that story with everyone, especially how he achieved that perfect score on the first time and on his daughter’s special day. The fun banter back and forth, the laughter, and the friendly competition made nights like that unforgettable.

He also had a deep love for fishing. Carlos would fly to Naples just to take his son Anthony on a boat fishing trip simply to spend time together doing something they both enjoyed. Those trips weren’t just about fishing; they were about bonding, laughter, stories, and creating memories that would last a lifetime. That was who Carlos was a father who showed his love through presence, action, and shared experiences.

He had a rare gift he could talk to anyone. He never met a stranger, only a future friend. He loved helping people and was always willing to lend a hand, no matter the circumstances. His warmth, humor, competitiveness, and generosity created lasting bonds wherever he went.

Carlos leaves behind a legacy of love, loyalty, presence, laughter, and compassion. Though his absence is deeply felt, the love he poured into his family and friends and the countless stories that will continue to be told ensure that his spirit lives on.
