Cheryl Marroquin Obituary

Cheryl Helena (Woosley) Marroquin

January 6, 1948 - July 7, 2026

Cheryl Helena (Woosley) Marroquin, 78, went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on Tuesday, July 7, 2026.

Cheryl was born near Castle Rock, Colorado on January 6, 1948. She was the third of seven children born to Bill and Ethel Woosley. As a child and young adult, she lived in several states, including Arizona, Minnesota, Missouri and Kansas, finally making Chicago, Illinois, her hometown, where she built a life centered on faith, family, and love.

Cheryl was baptized in 1964 and faithfully followed Christ throughout her life. Her relationship with Jesus was the foundation of her life and a source of strength, hope, and compassion. She was a lover of the outdoors and learning. Different languages came easily to her, and she became fluent in Spanish along with having a good understanding of German.

Above all else, Cheryl treasured her family. She was a loving mother and proud grandmother who cherished every moment spent with those she loved. She is survived by her five children: daughter Amanda, son Jeffrey, son Nathaniel (Christina), son Philip and son Alex (Christina). She also leaves behind nine beloved grandchildren: Tim, Josh, Makayla, Anneliese, Aiden, Luke, Alina, Dylan, and Wyatt, as well as six siblings: brother Dale (Cheryl) Woosley, brother Leon Woosley, sister Marlys Lee, sister Leslie Harrison, sister Juanita (Charlie) Page and sister Kathy Woosley. Her greatest joy came from spending time with her family, encouraging them, praying for them, and celebrating each of their lives.

Cheryl will be remembered for her love of God, her infectious smile and silly ways, her "matter of fact" personality, her love and devotion to her family and loved ones, and her extreme love of chocolate.

While her family grieves her passing, they rejoice in God's promise of eternal life and find peace in knowing Cheryl has been welcomed into the presence of her Savior, hearing the words, "Well done, good and faithful servant." Her life was a testimony of faith, and her memory will forever be a blessing to those she leaves behind.

~ "I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith."  - 2 Timothy 4:7~
