Christopher Edward Mizener Jr, 32 of Chicago, Illinois went on to be with the Lord on Sunday, September 4, 2022. He was born on November 30, 1989, to the union of Maria Teresa Dexter and Christopher Edward Mizener Sr. of Chicago, Illinois. He was the big brother to Kathleen Ann (Mizener) Monroe. Husband to Melissa Chavez Mizener.
Christopher attended St Roberts Bellarmine School and Glenbrook South High School where he received his high school diploma. He later went on to obtain his bachelor degree in Law Enforcement and Justice Administration at Western Illinois University. He worked for many years for the State of Illinois as a Correctional Officer at Stateville Correctional Center.
Christopher was a lover of all his pets especially Bella, Mini, Claire, Dahlia, and Paris whom he cared for and loved like they were his children. In his younger years, he played travel hockey (Skokie Flyers), and jr high school football (Glenview) and played throughout high school and during college. He was a big movie buff who enjoyed Marvel and war movies. He often referred to himself as Captain America. His childhood passion for Pokemon sustained throughout his adulthood which led to finding a supportive community throughout his later years. You often found him at the gym running on the treadmill at the highest incline. He was a great friend to many and always a listening ear in times of need. He enjoyed getting tattoos by his brother Steve Nydam whom he called his Michelangelo. He met his life partner Melissa Chavez Mizener in May 2019 and married on June 5th, 2021 at the Bahai Temple.
He is survived by his wife Melissa Chavez Mizener, his father Christopher Edward Mizener Sr, mother Maria Teresa Dexter, sister Kathleen Ann (Mizener) Monroe, grandmother Judith Davis, brother-in-law Edward Allen Monroe I, and brother Steve Nydam. His in-laws Dora Elia and Ismael Chavez. His niece and nephews: Isabella Marie Monroe, Edward Allen Monroe II, McKenzie Rivera, Angel (AJ) Rivera Jr., Misun Mizener, and Norah Mizener. His aunts and uncles Natalie (Dexter) & Eliegey Fraisier, Jerome (Jerry) Dexter, Holly (Dexter) & John Thomsen, Raymond Dexter, Matthew Dexter, and Jeff & Ellen Mizener. His cousins Jessica Justus, Matthew Fraisier, Luke Fraisier, Lilly Martinez, Ashley Tellis, Maureen Mizener, Brendon Mizener, Andrew Mizener, and many other cousins. Previously departed loved ones included his grandfather John Edward Mizener, Bob Davis, Jerome Noel Dexter Sr., and Carol Lee Dexter.
