Conchita Custodio Camacho passed away peacefully at home on January 17, 2024.
She is survived by her children, Benjamin, Rolando (Marilyn), and Maria. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Alejandro M., and her three sons, Edgardo (Edith), Alejandro Jr., and Ronald (Elizabeth). She is dearly loved by her grandchildren, Pauline, William, Paul and Megan. She was born and raised in Camarines Norte, Philippines; then, later moved to Manila where she married and had children. She was a loving and faithful wife, as well as a dedicated and responsible mother to her family; whereby, she remained a housewife who tended to her young children until they were all grown-up. As frugal as she was, realized that she had to raise a big family; nevertheless, she ensured quality education for all her children who all attended private Catholic schools during their elementary and high school years. She immigrated to the U.S.A. in 1982, and later became a citizen. She attended college for some years, obtained a Medical Assistant diploma, as well as became a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA). She initially worked as a private home-duty caregiver; then, later worked as a CNA in a residential facility for the visually-impaired for several years. She is also an animal advocate, as in having adopted stray cats at home. She was very hospitable, as in always offered food and drink to visitors at home. She enjoyed family reunions and friendly gatherings, but was equally content being at home with her own family. She also underwent many life struggles, complications, and adversaries, including many hospitalizations, but overcame them all with God’s grace and mercy. At the age of 88, after having led a full life, a well-deserved rest granted. Much love, gratitude and thanks are being sent to our loving mother, ‘Conching’, for all her sacrifices, and immeasurable love, guidance and support provided to all of us throughout her entire life. You will be greatly missed. God bless you and keep you in His tender loving care, Nanay!
