David Sanchez of Chicago passed away on January 9, 2023, at the age of 58. Born on Halloween as he often used to say, October 31, 1964, the son of Jesus Sanchez Rico and Guadalupe Pompa Chavez. He will be dearly missed by all of his family and friends. David is survived by his loving wife of 38 years, Sofia Molina, his devoted daughter Jazmin Sanchez; his supportive Son-in-law Matthew Horvath; his beautiful granddaughter Sofia Horvath; his doggy grandson Romeo; his loyal dog Scooby; and his brother Roman Sanchez. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister Veronica Morales.
David grew up in Cuernavaca, Morelos where at a young age he was known for his sense of style, culinary talent, and amazing moves on the soccer field. He was the definition of cool in every sense. Any room would brighten up as soon as he walked in. His superpower was his great sense of humor which he used every chance he had to make people laugh. He brought so much joy to all those around him. He used this gift to help those in need, especially those he met along the way going in and out of hospitals. He represented strength, perseverance, and courage. Never giving up and always being the first one to share his faith and journey. He became an advocate for families who needed assistance in getting information about kidney failure. David was an active volunteer for the National Kidney Foundation, helping to support others who were battling kidney disease. His light will continue to shine through the memories he left in all of our hearts.
