Dorel Sighete

Dorel Sighete (46), of Park Ridge, IL (born in Arad, Romania), passed away on July 2, 2022 from colon cancer that metastasized to the lungs. He was predeceased by his father Gheorghe Sighete, and he left behind his wife of 24 years, Consuela Sighete, his children Ally and Matteo; his mother Anica Sighete; his brother Cornel Sighete & his wife Claudia and their children Julia, Naomi, Jonathan and James; his sister Cornelia Sighete and her children Alex & Patricia Valea; his brother Daniel Sighete & his wife Laura and their children, Ruben, Emanuel, Daniel, Gabriel and Simona; his father-in-law & mother-in law Paul and Maria Deznan, his sisters and brothers in law, Bianca and Peter Sanders, Patricia & Eric Godfrey and their children Lucia & Teddy, Pamela & David Foley and their children Luca and Jude and Arthur & Laura Deznan and their daughters Sofia and Giselle; his aunt Veronica Farcau and her family, Zdrentan, Bogojel, Victor Andreica and his children along with the rest of Andrecia cousins, Aurica Stretcu and her children, Cornelia & Nicu Ivut and their children, Trian Cuc and his children, Avram Cuc and his children, Teofil Cuc and wife and daughter, Sofia Toader and her children, and Trandafir & Lavina Cuc; Dina & Teofil Mihuta and their children; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews from Consuela’s side of the family and many many friends.

Summary of Life

Dorel was born in Arad, Romania in 1975 to a loving, devout family with 3 older siblings; 2 brothers and a sister.  He had a very happy childhood, playing outdoors, improving his soccer skills, regularly attending church and playing in the brass band many year, and nurturing a curiosity of the world, which would bring him across Europe, and eventually across the Atlantic, where he would spend the next almost 3 decades of his life as a husband and a father.  In 1995, Dorel met his wife, Consuela in Paris, and in 1998, they married in Chicago, IL.  They shared over 27 years of love, laughter, travel and adventures, along with their 2 children, Alleesandra  (19) and Matteo (15).  They were the family that did everything together.  Dorel will be missed tremendously, and his humorous personality and generous spirit will live on through his family and friends.
