Ezequiel “Zeke” Gonzalez

September 11, 1968 (Cienfuegos, Cuba) – March 16, 2024 (Chicago, Illinois)

With profound love and deep reverence, we pay tribute to the life of Ezequiel Gonzalez, fondly known as "Zeke," who transitioned from this life on March 16th, 2024. Surrounded by his cherished brother, honorable sister, and beloved mother, Zeke's journey reached its conclusion on the Spring Equinox.

With hearts filled with gratitude for a life dedicated to artistry, family, and boundless inspiration, we pay tribute to Zeke's profound legacy. He leaves behind a vibrant legacy of passion, creativity, and complete self-expression, departing from this earthly realm at the tender age of 55.

Born on September 11th 1968 to Jose Gonzalez (Papa) and Iraida Barcelo Gonzalez (Mimi), Zeke was a true renaissance man. A visionary artist, filmmaker, and free thinker, Zeke fearlessly explored the depths of creativity and innovation and shared every bit of his gifts and insights with those he loved and respected the most.

His incredible creative journeys brought him across the country, where he worked on various foreign films and projects, forming deep friendships and collaborations with people from different cultures and backgrounds. Through his captivating stories, he made life richer not just for himself but also for his family and friends.

To his family, Ezequiel Gonzalez was known as a go-getter, a trickster, a unique and mysterious being full of a rich and adventurous spirit. He radiated a cool, vibrant, down to earth presence, that left an unforgettable impression on all who were fortunate enough to meet and truly know him. Even through his most challenging moments Ezequiel held an unwavering strength in his love for life and family which softened even his most trying qualities.

He was a beloved brother to Teresa, Luis, Rafael, Estelle and Jose Jr. and a cherished uncle to Juan, Ashlee, Pedro, Francheska, Luis Jr., Liliana, Eli, and Zayden. Most importantly, he was the adored father of Sierra Gonzalez, who carries on his artistic, philanthropic spirit, and charismatic legacy.

Ezequiel Gonzalez is more than a memory; he was a force of inspiration that will continue to resonate in the hearts of all who knew and loved him. To his daughter, he remains a continual wellspring of inspiration and spiritual support—a guide and guardian guiding her journey.

With boundless love and admiration, we honor Ezequiel Gonzalez's remarkable legacy and the profound impact he had on all who had the pleasure of knowing & loving him.
