Hector Diaz died December 28th 2022 of natural causes. He was 69. Born on September 9, 1953 in Villalba, Puerto Rico to Eusebio Diaz and to Noeida Miranda. He was 3 years old when they moved to Chicago IL.
He grew up in Wrigleyville, and in Humble Park where he attended Tuley High School. Hector had many siblings: Antonio, Norma, Jose Enrique, Eusebio (Cherrios), Ana, Obdulia, Manuel, Lidia, Irma, Angel, Maria, and Carlos.
Hector was a loving father and had 3 children with Maria Flores; son Hector Diaz Jr., and daughters Mary Ann Diaz and Susan Diaz.
Hector worked for The City of Chicago for many year until he retirement. In his free time he loved looking up family members to spend quality time with. In the summer he enjoyed afternoons in Humbolt Park, gathering with old friends joking, laughing and enjoying a cold one. He had a great sense of humor, was a born charmer and was very dramatic. As a huge Bruce Lee fan, he became famous for his num-chuk skills. A real tough guy, but generous and kind hearted.
Hector helped out many friends and family and quite a few can attest to that. He was sincere and you could always come to him for honesty and wisdom.
He enjoyed life and lived life on the wild side and was fortunate to have even hit the lottery. After that, the next time you saw Hector, he was cruising a silver BMW convertible blasting his salsa music. Music was his thing. Dancing, stepping to the oldies or jamming with one of his many instruments he had lying around the house. He played it all. Don’t give him a microphone! It’s karaoke time! He was the life of the party! He had love for everybody and was there for everybody. He has touched many hearts. His voice, his laughter and his joyful smile will be missed.
