Jaime Espinoza Obituary

Jaime Alfonso "El Pelado" Espinoza, age 76, passed away on November 22, 2025, in Chicago, Illinois. Born on October 13, 1949, in Guayaquil, Ecuador, Jaime lived a life marked by resilience, joy, and deep devotion to his family and community.

Jaime began his journey in the service industry with humble beginnings as a busboy. Through hard work and determination, he rose through the ranks to become a waiter and eventually found his true calling as a bartender—a role he embraced with flair and charisma. Known affectionately as a cocktail specialist, Jaime brought warmth and energy to every establishment he worked in. His dream of owning his own business became a reality in the mid-2000s, a milestone that reflected both his entrepreneurial spirit and unwavering dedication.

Beyond his professional accomplishments, Jaime was known for his vibrant personality. Always happy and full of life, he was the heart of every gathering—the one who could lift spirits with a joke or offer encouragement when it was needed most. His love for fútbol was unmatched; whether playing or watching matches all day long, the sport remained one of his greatest passions throughout his life. After moving to Chicago, he became an enthusiastic fan of the Cubs and the Bears, embracing his new home’s teams with characteristic zeal.

Jaime's greatest pride was his family. He is lovingly remembered by his wife Emma Espinoza; son Jaime A. Espinoza-Floril and daughter-in-law Vivian San Miguel; daughter Melida Zeri and son-in-law Daniel Zeri; grandchildren Jimbo, Julian, Nathan, Mia, Mya and Emma. He also leaves behind his sister Norma Palacios; brother Walter Espinoza and sister-in-law Martha Espinoz and many nieces and nephews.

He now joins in rest his beloved parents Leopoldo and Melida Espinoza and brothers Raul and Eduardo

Jaime Alfonso "El Pelado" Espinoza will be remembered for the joy he brought into every room, the strength with which he pursued his dreams, and the unconditional love he shared with those around him. May his memory bring comfort to all who knew him.
