John Henry McCarten

John Henry McCarten, aged 78, passed away on 2/23/25. He was a beloved brother and friend who will be deeply missed by all who knew him. John was born on 11/21/46 in Chicago, Illinois, where he spent his formative years. He was a graduate of Lewis University, Joliet, IL, where he specialized in business administration. He proudly served in the US Army where he received a National Defense and good conduct service medals. John was an IRS agent, an accountant for Cook County IL and taught tax classes at a junior college. He is survived by his siblings: Rosemary Fulgenzi, Betty Biank, Margaret McCarten, and Jerry McCarten. He was preceded in death by his brothers James McCarten and William McCarten. John was uncle to thirteen nieces and nephews and great uncle to many more. John enjoyed playing cards and games with friends in the nursing home. John was a Christian man of character who attended Mass regularly. He enjoyed reading the Bible and other spiritually enriching books.
