Jonathan Lewis Cutler

May 6th, 2022 Jonathan Lewis Cutler, man about town, passed away.  Born October 22, 1972 and raised in Libertyville Illinois by Richard (Dick) and Diane Cutler, Jonathan graduated from Southern Illinois University where he found his passion for brewing beer.  He subsequently attended the esteemed Siebel Institute in Chicago and started brewing professionally at Goose Island Brewery followed by a position at Sierra Nevada.  In 2001 he started as head brewer at Piece Pizza where he went on to win 29 medals at the GABF and World Beer Cup over the course of 19 years.  His most recent venture was at Oy Brewing in the Faroe Islands.  
Jonathan had a disarming honesty and a rapier-wit that could make anyone laugh.  He was a loyal son, brother and friend.  
He is survived by his mother, Diane Cutler, his sister Catherine Kraus, brother in-law Eric Kraus, nephew Vaughn Kraus and niece, Ivy Kraus. His proud father, Dick passed away in 2020.
He will be missed more than words can say.  
Services to celebrate his life will be held at Benson’s Funeral home Thursday May 19th between 4-6pm, 2022 at 3224 West Montrose Ave in Chicago IL.
