Jose Montalvo Delgado

Jose Montalvo Delgado, también conocido como Pepe, falleció el 23 de junio 2026 en Chicago, Illinois a la edad de 67. A pesar de su ardua batalla contra el cáncer, él mantuvo un espíritu luchador y optimista con esperanza de crear más memorias con su familia. 

José nació en San Juan Bautista Cacalote, Guanajuato México. Hijo de los finados José Montalvo y Raquel Montalvo. Hermano de Jaime, Gloria, Martin, Oscar, Salomón, Imelda, Cristóbal, Camilo, Laura, Teresa, Telma y Edith.

Le sobrevive su esposa Maria Remigia; sus hijos Joseph, Judith y Jacqueline, en compañía de su madre Amelia Montalvo. También deja atras de 2 nietas - Julietta y Annabelle y 2 nietos Adam y Noah. También deja dos yernos Alex y Mussa y una nuera Angelica al igual que muchos queridos sobrinos y sobrinas. 

José fue un padre trabajador y siempre muy atento a sus hijos pues siempre les recordaba la importancia de echarle muchas ganas en sus estudios y seguir adelante en la vida. Si necesitábamos ayuda en algo, él buscaba el modo para arreglar el asunto. El se aseguraba que no faltasen los pasteles para cada cumpleaños, pizza los Sábados en la noche, compras los fines de semana con sus hijos. El se deleitaba en tocar su música favorita y hacernos reir con su extravagante forma de bailar. Su color favorito era el verde, posiblemente por que creció en el campo o por que le gustaba la jardinería. 

Recordaremos sus órdenes de café decaf que eran más leche con café que café con leche; su formas de decir “What you doing”, “Mi persona”, “Excuse me”, “Excellent!” y “Oh Cabellero, que tal?”; su chiflado; sus llaveros llenos de llaves;  sus llamadas cada otro día a sus hijos para ver cómo estaban y  el cortó mensaje diciendo “hola hij@ llámame cuando puedas”.

Su amor a Dios fue constante, aún en sus últimos días se deleitaba en leer su biblia sentado desde su sillón. Su partida de este mundo fue rápida pero lo recordaremos siempre.

José Montalvo Delgado, also known as Pepe, passed away on June 23, 2026, in Chicago, Illinois, at the age of 67. Despite his hard-fought battle with cancer, he maintained a fighting spirit and an optimistic outlook, always hoping to create more memories with his family.

José was born in San Juan Bautista Cacalote, Guanajuato, Mexico. He was the son of the late José Montalvo and Raquel Montalvo. He was the brother of Jaime, Gloria, Martin, Oscar, Salomon, Imelda, Cristóbal, Camilo, Laura, Teresa, Telma, and Edith.

He is survived by his wife, Maria Remigia; his children, Joseph, Judith, and Jacqueline; and their mother, Amelia Montalvo. He also leaves behind two granddaughters, Julietta and Annabelle, and two grandsons, Adam and Noah, and two son in laws Alex and Mussa and one daughter in law Angelica as well as many beloved nieces and nephews.

José was a hardworking father who was always attentive to his children. He constantly reminded them of the importance of working hard in their studies and persevering in life. Whenever help was needed, he always found a way to solve the problem. He made sure there was a birthday cake for every celebration, Saturday night pizza for the family, and weekend shopping trips with his children. He delighted in playing his favorite music and making everyone laugh with his extravagant dance moves. His favorite color was green, perhaps because he grew up in the countryside or because he loved gardening.

We will remember his decaf coffee orders, which seemed to be more milk with coffee than coffee with milk. He was known for these sayings, “What you doing,” “Mi persona,” “Excuse me,” “Excellent!” and “Oh Caballero, que tal?”; his distinctive whistle; his keychains overflowing with keys; his phone calls every other day to check on his children and leaving a short voicemail that simply stated “son/daughter, call me when you can.”

His love for God remained steadfast. Even in his final days, he found joy in reading his Bible while sitting in his favorite recliner. His departure from this world was sudden, but he will always be remembered and forever cherished.
