Beloved mother, grandmother and friend, Jutta Sievers, peacefully left this world on April 19, 2023, in Chicago, IL, at the age of 83, surrounded by family and much love.
The world welcomed Jutta on January 18, 1940, to Fritz and Gertrud Viereck in Berlin, Germany. A strong, independent, and courageous soul from the beginning, she immigrated to the US, ultimately landing in and making Chicago her new home.
She lived a fulfilling life as a dedicated and loving wife, mother, grandmother, partner and friend. Her gentle and generous soul was always willing to lend an ear and had kind words for everyone. Her love and compassion extended to all who knew her, and she will be remembered for her infectious smile, endearing sense of humor, and gracious personality.
Jutta is survived by her son, Mark (Pamela) Sievers, of Brookfield, Illinois; daughter, Betina Sievers, of Chicago, Illinois; grandchildren Nicole, Danielle and Kyle; beloved long-time partner Rudy Klatt and his family, Peter Klatt and Sylvia (Mark) Atkins; and many other cherished family and friends, all of whom will miss her dearly.
Jutta was preceded in death by her husband, Guenter, and her son, Gregory.
As per Jutta’s wish, no funeral or memorial service will be held.
Memorial gifts can be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, an organization dear to Jutta’s heart and which she avidly supported. Donations can be made online at www.stjude.org/donate or mailed to 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
