Mara Pantelin Templar Obituary

In Loving Memory of Mara Pantelin Templar
April 2, 1948 – May 19, 2025

With profound sorrow and deep love, we remember the life of Mara Pantelin Templar, who passed away peacefully on May 19, 2025, surrounded by the family she cherished.

Born on April 2, 1948, in Novi Kneževac, Serbia, Mara was the beloved youngest child of Milena and Živa Pantelin. As the fourth and final addition to their family, she was lovingly doted on by her older siblings and brought warmth, joy, and laughter into their modest home. Mara graduated from high school and, at the age of 19, was baptized into the Seventh-day Adventist Church, where her faith and community involvement flourished.

In 1970, with the help of her eldest brother, Mara immigrated to the United States with her parents. They first settled in Cleveland, Ohio, and later moved to Chicago, where she embraced new opportunities and successfully built a career as a Dental Technician.

Mara is preceded in death by her cherished parents Milena and Živa, her eldest brother Milorad, and her youngest brother Miodrag.

She is deeply mourned by her devoted sister Milina, and by her heartbroken “kids”: Jelica, Marianna, Zoran (Jeannie), Dragana (Saša), Mike (Norma), Robert, and Christina (Jeff) Ehresman. She is also survived by her loving sisters-in-law Ljubica and Beth, her many great-nieces and great-nephews, and a host of beloved cousins, extended family, and dear friends.

Mara’s life was a beautiful reflection of grace, devotion, and joy. Her unwavering faith, gentle kindness, and radiant spirit touched the lives of all who knew her. Her memory will live on in our hearts forever.
