With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Raul Isidro Hernandez, a beloved father, grandfather, hermano, tio, and hijo, on December 12, 2024, in his longtime home of Chicago, Illinois, where he lovingly raised his three sons.
Raul was born on May 15, 1957 in Mexico City, Mexico to his loving mother, Honoria. A man of great warmth and kindness, Raul dedicated his life to his family, sharing love and joy with everyone around him.
He is survived by his three sons, Raul Hernandez Jr., Pablo Hernandez and Randy Hernandez, who will forever cherish the lessons he taught them and the love he shared. His legacy continues through his cherished grandchildren, Michael, Nicholas, and Aiden Hernandez, who brought him immense pride and happiness.
Raul was a caring brother to Sylvia, Jaime and Rogelio, and a devoted tio to his nieces and nephews. He also had a special bond with his mother, Honoria, whom he deeply loved and respected.
Raul had a passionate interest in cooking, a skill he honed during his many years in the hospitality industry, working in various downtown Chicago restaurants and hotels. He brought his love of food and creativity into his home, where his family enjoyed the fruits of his talent. Raul also found joy in the simple pleasures of life, like taking long bike rides and caring for the stray cats in his neighborhood.
Raul's gentle spirit, love of life, and unwavering devotion to his family will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. He will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
